Independant Insulated Flue Systems
If you don't have a chimney, or prefer to install your stove as a free standing model (ie. not in a fireplace recess), you can have an independent flue system constructed. This works in the same way – and sometimes better! – as a standard chimney. The system we would recommend is called TI and is made by Poujoulat.
It is made up of combinations of stainless steel twin wall insulated flues and angles, supported by various brackets, adjustable arms and plates. The flues can be configured to run from the stove up to and through the ceiling, through the room above, into the roof space and out through the roof. Or, the flues can be put through an external wall so that they run up the outside of the house.
