Over the years fireplaces sometimes get filled in, either completely or maybe to house a gas fire or electric bar heater. Sometimes an open fire aperture will have been reduced in size to help combat 'smoking into the room' problems. All this means that if you want to install a stove into your fireplace it may need opening back up again.
Whilst opening it up, you may want to change the look completely – go for a simple plastered finish maybe, or perhaps have a wooden beam inserted above the recess. If you've always hated the brick or stone used to build your fireplace, maybe now is the time to change it! We can help you with ideas – be as creative as you like. We carry out most of the building work in-house and Matt will run though options with you whilst carrying out a site survey.
